What “winning” looks like
- Beacons flash for the entire photo-enforced 20 mph window — or the overhead legend changes so drivers aren’t lied to at highway speed.
- Advance warning and distance that let a vehicle actually decelerate from 45 to 20 before the lens.
- Hearing access without a $250 loser tax that chills challenges.
- Transparent ticket counts and revenue published for Bradford County residents.
What you can do today
- Drive aware. Until signs change, assume 20 mph camera enforcement 6:30–2:40 on school days in that short corridor — flashing or not.
- Share the evidence. Send photos and the breakdown to anyone running US 301.
- Pressure officials. Lawtey commissioners, Florida legislators who authored camera bills, FDOT on school-zone SDS signage.
- Talk to media. Local papers and statewide investigators already smell the “gotcha” problem.
